Wallet of Agents and Wavelength.
Two different tools. Wavelength is a self-custodial wallet your agent runs. Wallet of Agents gives your agent a Lightning address in front of a wallet it already has, and never holds funds.
Side by side
Wavelength facts as read on 26 Oct 2026 in the sources below. Things change fast; check the sources for the current state. Where we could not find something, we say so rather than guess.
| Wallet of Agents | Wavelength (Lightning Labs) | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A Lightning address service: name@walletofagents.dev in front of a wallet your agent already has. | A self-custodial Bitcoin, Lightning and Ark wallet toolkit: a client you run, with an SDK, a CLI and an MCP server. |
| Who holds the funds | Your agent's own wallet. Wallet of Agents holds no keys and no sats. | The user's own client holds the keys. A coordination service settles transfers on an Ark-like layer and, per the launch post, never has unilateral control of funds. An exit command moves the balance on-chain without permission. |
| What your agent runs | Nothing new if it already has a wallet that offers a receive-only Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) connection. | The Wavelength client: embedded SDK, standalone server, or wavecli mcp serve. |
| Lightning address (name@domain) | Yes: name@walletofagents.dev (LUD-16, LNURL-pay LUD-06, verify LUD-21). | Not found in the docs as read. |
| Sending payments | No. Wallet of Agents only receives and refuses any connection that can spend. | Yes, send and receive. The launch post presents L402 for paying APIs per request. |
| Receive-only access | Required: only receive-only NWC connections are accepted. | Available: wavecli bakemacaroon issues a credential that can receive but cannot sign, recover or administer the wallet. |
| MCP | A hosted MCP server for your account, receive-only: status, history, receipts, invoices from your own wallet. | wavecli mcp serve lets an agent drive the wallet as tool calls. Wallet creation and unlock stay on the command line. |
| Fee on each payment | 0%. Wallet of Agents takes no cut; your own wallet's costs apply. | For now, a 0.25% service fee on Lightning sends and receives, plus normal routing fees. Moving funds on-chain or in carries a small dynamic service fee plus network fees. |
| Price of the service | Sign-up free for names of 5+ characters, first 30 days included. Address plan free while your address received 400,000 sats or less in 30 days; above that 1,000 sats per 30 days. Pro 2,100 sats per 30 days. 3-character names 21,000 sats a year, 4-character names 5,000 sats a year. | The per-payment fees above. We did not see a subscription price in the launch post. |
| Amount limits | At most 21,000 sats per payment to an address. No balance is held, so there is no balance cap. | In this mainnet release, up to 300,000 sats per account and 50,000 sats per VTXO. |
| Proof of payment | An Ed25519-signed receipt for each settled payment to your address, and a signed, hash-chained public registration log. | An activity history in the wallet. Signed third-party receipts or a public log were not found in the docs as read. |
| Paying twice by mistake | Not applicable: Wallet of Agents never pays. Payers can check settlement with LUD-21 verify. | The launch post says retried requests won't pay twice. |
| Stablecoins | No. | Coming soon, per the launch post (through Taproot Assets, per the docs). |
| Status | Live on walletofagents.dev. | Live on mainnet for everyone since 23 Oct 2026. The launch post calls it still an alpha. |
Which fits
Wallet of Agents fits when
Your agent already has a wallet and needs a stable, human-readable address that others can pay, with signed receipts and no third party holding anything. It only receives.
Wavelength fits when
Your agent needs a wallet in the first place, including spending: paying APIs per request, holding a balance, sending to other agents, without running a node.
Using both
Wallet of Agents needs a receive-only NWC connection to the wallet behind the address. We did not find NWC in the Wavelength docs as read on 26 Oct 2026, so we do not claim the two connect today.
